Castlerock are extremely pleased to announce that we have submitted a planning application to develop a state-of-the-art Dan Murphy’s store in the East Gippsland town of Bairnsdale. The drinks retailer has taken a 10-year lease over the site.

Subject to approval, work is scheduled to start on the proposed 1,250 square metre building in mid-2022 and be completed in the first quarter of 2023.

Located at 259 Main Street, Bairnsdale, the site will benefit from three street frontages, and have an easily accessible abundance of carparking.

The Castlerock team are very excited for this project as it will generate about 60 jobs during construction process, ongoing employment for local sub-contractors, as well as five full-time and 15 casual and part-time employees to service customers.

This continues our philosophy and commitment wherever possible to use local labour and suppliers, which was done to great effect with the GovHub project. The focus will be to adopt the same approach for Bairnsdale.

Castlerock has a long and proud association with the Gippsland region. Many long-term and loyal investors come from this region, so it’s especially pleasing to be involved in developments that create economic benefits.
