Castlerock completes new CFA incident control centre in Kangaroo Flat

15 March 2019

Castlerock has handed over a new control centre to CFA in Kangaroo Flat, which will be used to manage larger bushfires across District 2 and the North West Region.

CFA has taken out a 10-year lease on the purpose-built facility, with five options to extend that by five years.

The new District and Regional control centre provides a state-of-the-art base from which CFA will operate from in times of emergency, replacing an older centre in Bendigo and catering for staff from several other locations.

It is part of CFA’s Growth Programs, which implements  the Victorian Government’s commitment to enhancing service delivery via investment in infrastructure such as leasing this facility in Kangaroo Flat. .

Castlerock managed the base build of the vital community asset, which was completed in March and spans approximately 1350 square metres, providing 150 square metres for the storage of essential firefighting equipment, 55 carparks for emergency staff and 24-hour operations backed up by generators.

CFA will now commence fitting out the centre in readiness for the summer 2019/20 summer  season.
