Castlerock’s award winning Latrobe Valley GovHub in Morwell has another award to add to the list, winning the 2021 Good Design Award for the Architectural Design category (Interiors).
The Australian Good Design Awards proudly date back to 1958 and has committed to promoting the importance of design to business, industry, government and the general public. The awards recognise and promote the value of design at a local, national, and international level across 12 design disciplines and 30 categories.
It was great to work alongside WMK Architects who were the masterminds behind the design. Working on this project with architects that shared our passion and enthusiasm to deliver a high-quality workplace that is the Latrobe Valley GovHub was fantastic and we’re grateful for their hard work on the project. We’re consistently receiving positive feedback from the occupants who are really enjoying the space.
“Latrobe Valley GovHub is a highly considered bespoke work environment created to drive the industries of the future. It is home to Parks Victoria, Solar Victoria and Earth Resources Regulation. It supports a new sustainable future with more than 75 percent of materials and services sourced from the local region.” says the Good Design Awards Jury.
Castlerock Managing Director Adam Bronts says: “We are extremely excited to see this building continue to be recognised for its out-of-the-box thinking and design, it has provided some welcomed positive news to both the Morwell and wider Latrobe Valley community”.
In addition to the high-quality work environment, throughout the design there are bespoke and thoughtful gestures acknowledging the local community, which the whole team are extremely proud of. One such piece is our partnership with the Torch program and re-using the local squash club floorboards throughout the meeting rooms.
The Latrobe Valley GovHub receiving this prestigious award really puts a spotlight on the many capabilities and opportunities for growth in these regional locations.
