To mark International Women’s Day, we’re spotlighting Hayley Fantuz, Project Coordinator on our Townsville site.

Hayley coordinates quality assurance, documentation and milestone sign-offs ensuring every stage of the build meets the standards our investors and tenants expect.

For Hayley, no two days look the same.

“Most days are different. Every hour is different,” she says. “I can’t really schedule my day - I’ll get a phone call or something needs arranging. That’s what keeps it interesting.”

A key part of her role involves capturing site progress and overseeing compliance at every stage of the build. Using digital tools to document works and track quality, she creates a clear visual record of progress, strengthening transparency, accountability and delivery standards. Through the OpenSpace platform used on site, project teams can remotely review progress, allowing colleagues in Melbourne to stay closely connected to the build in Townsville.

“It gets me out of the site office and walking the build,” she says. “I joke that I look like a Teletubby with the camera on my head, but once I realised how many people view the images, I started telling the trades to dance when they see me.”

Behind the humour is a serious commitment to detail. Every photo, every sign-off and every inspection contributes to delivering a high-quality asset built for long-term performance.

When asked what International Women’s Day means to her, Hayley reflects on how far the industry has come.

“Can you imagine what it would have been like in the 60s - expected to just stand in the kitchen? That wouldn’t have been me. I would’ve been rallying so we could go to work.”

Independent and driven, she credits hard work and strong mentors for shaping her career.

“Work hard and you’ll get the rewards. And surround yourself with people who support you.”

At Castlerock, projects are delivered by capable, accountable teams on the ground, people who take pride in doing things properly.

Hayley’s role on the Townsville site is a reminder that leadership and quality are built step by step, and that strong outcomes start with strong people.
